When taking the Cast and Crew photos, we used 3-point lighting. This meant that a key light was facing the subject, a fill light was facing to the side of the subject, and a back light was facing the back. We used this technique as we knew it would have a good, professional effect on each photo, and in turn would be fitting with the aesthetic of our website. 
As you can see in this photo, the subject's face is the lightest part of the image. This is due to the 3-point lighting, specifically the key light.
